Buying a diamond is one of the most important jewelry purchases you’ll make. Being educated about diamonds will be an invaluable tool in helping you get the best diamond for your lifestyle and budget.

The 4cs are 4 categories that are used when evaluating diamonds.

This refers to the specific shape of the diamond whether it be round, princess, pear, or asscher, and comes down to personal preference.

Diamonds are graded on a scale of D-Z, with D being completely colorless. D-E-F is colorless while G-J is near colorless. Anything beyond J is slight yellow all the way to brown.

Refers to the inclusions or lack thereof, in a diamond. Flawless diamonds are exceptionally rare with most diamonds, having minor inclusions only visible with magnification.

Refers to the weight of a diamond. Bigger isn’t always better. A well cut smaller stone can look just as big as a larger poorly cut stone.
